Former Formula 1 test driver and Le Mans winner Alex Lynn has injected £100,000 into Pacer, a new app set to launch in London this year. The app, founded by Dylan Morris-Jones, is designed to connect Londoners who share a passion for sports like running, tennis, and padel.
Pacer is being dubbed 'Sports Tinder' but its creators state that users do not initially sign up looking for romance. Instead, the focus is on finding people with shared sporting interests, fostering community and friendship, with the potential for deeper connections to naturally develop.
Lynn commented that sport has always been a great way to meet people and build connections. He noted that despite London's population, it can be challenging to find individuals with genuine common interests, and Pacer aims to simplify that initial step.
