Sal Everett, a former security guard and runner for the UFC, has earned a contract to fight for the promotion. The 29-year-old secured the contract after defeating Ozzy Martin by knockout in the first round of Dana White's Contender Series.
UFC president Dana White awarded Everett the contract following his victory. White stated that he was happy for Everett, believing the contract would change his life so he would no longer need to work at the office.
Everett had been with the UFC for approximately three years, initially as a security guard and later as a runner for White. He had been training in MMA during his employment and won his first four career fights before being offered a spot in the Contender Series. He recently left his UFC job to concentrate on his professional fighting career.
