Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that the current season finale would be staged in Europe if the last two grands prix, in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, are called off due to the Middle East war. A decision on whether these races will proceed is expected by mid-September.
Domenicali also addressed critics of Formula One's current regulations, stating that most fans are enjoying the sport and are not concerned by technical complaints from drivers. He highlighted increased attendances and growth in global TV audiences during the first half of the season, according to F1's figures.
The F1 chief executive noted a shift in the sport's audience demographics, with 42% now female and 43% under 35. He suggested this new audience prioritises on-track action and driver personalities over technical aspects of the sport.
