A drive-by shooting in Brixton has left four people injured, with one man's life hanging in the balance. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.
The Metropolitan Police Service has confirmed that firearms officers were called to the scene in Brixton Hill at approximately 3.20am. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The shooting has been condemned by the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, who has called for an end to gun violence in the capital. 'My thoughts are with the victims and their families,' she said. 'We must work tirelessly to prevent such senseless acts of violence.'
The Labour Party's Shadow Home Secretary, Steve Reed, echoed the Home Secretary's sentiments, calling for increased support for communities affected by gun crime. 'We need to take a comprehensive approach to tackle the root causes of gun violence,' he said.
