Freenow by Lyft has rolled out a suite of new features designed to optimise taxi services in London, aiming to improve trip efficiency for both passengers and drivers. These updates include Airport FastPass, Multistop, and custom road mapping technology.
The Airport FastPass feature addresses driver reluctance to accept short-haul airport trips by offering priority status upon their return to the airport. This is intended to reduce delays for passengers requesting short trips from the airport.
The new Multistop feature allows passengers to add up to four intermediate stops to a single journey directly in the app. This functionality is now live across all UK operating cities and multiple counties in Ireland.
Freenow by Lyft is also enhancing navigation accuracy in London through its Map Contributors Program. A dedicated ground fleet with Fleetview sensors is collecting high-precision geographic data, focusing on lane configurations, road signs, and taxi access points, to feed into the app's navigation system.
