Georgia Hunter Bell, 32, has claimed her first major outdoor title, winning the 800m gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Scotstoun. She clocked 1:59.51, finishing more than a second ahead of Kenya's Lilian Odira, who took silver, and Australia's Sarah Billings, who secured bronze.

Hunter Bell's victory marks a significant achievement since she committed full-time to track and field two years ago. Before her return to elite sport, she pursued a career in cyber-security tech sales.

Following her Commonwealth Games success, Hunter Bell is now focusing on the European Championships in Birmingham, where she plans to compete in the 1500m event.
