Georgia Senator Ossoff Condemns Racist Posts by Collins's Ex-Staffer

US Senator Jon Ossoff has criticised reports of a former staffer for his Republican challenger Mike Collins sharing racist images online.

  • A former staffer for Republican challenger Mike Collins reportedly shared images of a swastika and himself in Ku Klux Klan robes online.
  • Senator Jon Ossoff called the report "disgraceful and disqualifying," linking it to Collins's alleged ties to white nationalism.
  • Collins's spokesperson stated the posts were "vile" and condemned them, asserting the ex-staffer has no current affiliation with Collins's office.

US Senator Jon Ossoff, a Democrat representing Georgia, has condemned a report alleging that a former staffer for his Republican challenger, Mike Collins, shared images online depicting a swastika and himself in Ku Klux Klan robes. Senator Ossoff described the report as “disgraceful and disqualifying,” stating it “should shock the conscience of every Georgian.”

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that Preston Parra, an ex-staffer for Collins, shared these images in June and July, along with other posts using racial slurs and quoting Nazi song lyrics. Parra, who interned for Collins in 2024 and worked as a contractor for his political action committee in 2025, told the Post that many of his posts, including the KKK image created with Grok AI, were “satirical.” He denied being a white supremacist but stated, “I do think that the white race contributes more to the world.”

Meyer Siegfried, a spokesperson for Collins, stated that Preston Parra has no affiliation with Collins’s office or campaign, calling the posts “vile, completely unhinged,” and adding that Mike Collins “unequivocally condemns them.” Siegfried also mentioned a “rise in antisemitism and hate among younger Americans” and “Jon Ossoff’s allies,” describing this as “equally abhorrent.”

This incident follows a CNN report last month that Collins’s son-in-law, David Alan Scheer II, is a white nationalist social media influencer with a history of sharing antisemitic material and Nazi imagery. Collins, a Republican representative for Georgia’s 10th congressional district since 2023, has faced scrutiny over associations with far-right figures and accusations of antisemitism, which he has denied. Collins won the Republican nomination in June and is set to face Ossoff in November’s midterm elections.
