The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS), a component of the government's Project Gigabit, ceased accepting new voucher project submissions on 31 August 2026.

The GBVS offered small grants, up to £4,500 each, to residents and businesses to help cover the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband connections. These projects were delivered in areas without Project Gigabit procurement, contracts, or existing or planned commercial coverage.

While new submissions have closed, delivery for existing voucher projects is ongoing. This will continue until the scheme's planned closure on 31 March 2028, or until projects' agreed end dates, if earlier.

What this means for you: New applications for the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme are no longer being accepted.
