Glorious Goodwood Day Two features Sussex Stakes clash of generations

Day Two of Glorious Goodwood includes the Group One Sussex Stakes, where three-year-olds Bow Echo and Gstaad will face four-year-old Opera Ballo for the first time over a mile.

Day Two of Glorious Goodwood is set to feature the Group One Sussex Stakes at 4.10pm, marking the first time a clash of generations will occur over a mile. The race will see three-year-olds Bow Echo and Gstaad compete against four-year-old Opera Ballo.

Bow Echo currently holds a two-nil lead in its rivalry with Gstaad, having previously beaten Ballydoyle’s Gstaad in the 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes this season. Opera Ballo, trained by Charlie Appleby, has a record of seven wins from 10 career starts, including a Group One victory in Meydan in January.

Other races on Wednesday's card include the Group Three Oak Tree Stakes (3.00pm), which is anticipated to be a contest between Flora Of Bermuda and Sayidah Dariyan. The closing HKJC World Pool Handicap (5.40pm) is expected to feature a maximum field of 20 runners over seven furlongs.
