The wedding, held at Hodsock Priory near Worksop, Nottinghamshire, followed Dean's recent appearance at the British Open at Royal Birkdale, where he narrowly missed the cut.
Dean, 32, described the wedding as "more nerve-wracking" than competing in the Open, admitting to feeling a sense of eternity while waiting for Lyle at the altar. The tranquil countryside setting provided a stark contrast to the high-stakes drama of Royal Birkdale, where the couple had experienced a "mad scramble" to find accommodation in Southport for the tournament.
His participation in the British Open was particularly dramatic this year, marking only his third time at the prestigious event. Dean initially failed to qualify but secured a lifeline through a victory in an off-qualifier against 11 other players the Monday before the main tournament, making him the first-ever "Last Chance Qualifier." This achievement follows a period where, as recently as 2024, the Yorkshireman had supported himself by working as a Morrisons delivery driver.
