Alphabet, Google's parent company, has launched Gemini 4 Argon, a new artificial intelligence model. Google states the model is designed for tasks including coding, research, and writing, with a particular focus on cybersecurity.
Gemini 4 Argon is currently being made available to a select group of Google's cybersecurity partners through its Fairwind Program. Google claims the model was specifically trained for defensive cyber work and can "autonomously find, validate, and patch critical software vulnerabilities."
The company also highlights Argon's capabilities in coding and engineering, noting that its own staff have used the model for daily work, such as debugging and codebase migrations. Additionally, Google states Argon can parse visuals, including analysing long videos or charts.
Google claims that Argon scored significantly higher than OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra and Anthropic’s Fable and Opus models across a variety of AI benchmarks. The company cites Vals, an AI benchmarking startup, as indicating Argon is currently the leading model on its AI model index.
