The government has launched a new national taskforce to tackle misogyny, chaired by the Minister for Women and Equalities, Bridget Phillipson. The taskforce will work with local leaders and experts to prevent misogyny across society, including in communities and workplaces, to protect women and girls from harmful attitudes.
The taskforce will gather insights from women and girls to shape government policy and explore further actions to combat harmful attitudes online, in workplaces, and in communities. Members will include representatives from women's organisations, academia, and local leaders.
Its work will complement existing cross-government efforts to halve violence against women and girls. The first meeting will focus on young people, with subsequent discussions planned for workplaces, digital spaces, and social cohesion.
