The Guild of Property Professionals is providing a dedicated webinar today, 30 July 2026, for its members to prepare for Phase Two of the Renters' Rights Act. This next stage of the legislation is due to be introduced later this year.
The session aims to equip agents with the latest guidance to ensure compliance and enable them to advise landlord clients confidently. Phase Two is likely to involve the gradual rollout of a new regional database for the private rented sector.
Paul Offley, Compliance Officer at The Guild, will lead the webinar. He stated that understanding what is coming and preparing clients will be key, even though Phase Two may not require the same level of operational change as the first phase.
Phase One of the Renters' Rights Act, which came into effect on 1 May, introduced significant changes including the abolition of Section 21 'no-fault' evictions and the conversion of assured shorthold tenancies into assured periodic tenancies.
