Analysis from Zoopla indicates that properties in half of Britain's local markets are experiencing longer selling times compared to the same period last year. This trend is observed despite the national average selling time remaining unchanged.
The property portal's research, covering England, Scotland, and Wales, identified 180 out of 363 local authorities where selling times have increased over the past 12 months. Nationally, the average time to sell a property stands at 42 days, a figure that has not changed year-on-year up to July 2026.
