Halifax Panthers secured a dominant 92-24 victory over Leeds Rhinos in the Wheelchair Challenge Cup final on 25 July 2026, retaining the trophy and claiming their sixth overall title. The Panthers' win marked their second consecutive Wheelchair Challenge Cup triumph, following their success against London Broncos in last year's final.
The first half saw both teams trade tries, with Leeds' Josh Butler scoring four of his team's 12 points. However, Halifax's Rob Hawkins stole the show, scoring his third try in the corner to complete a hat-trick and take his tally to four by the break. Halifax's Jack Brown also scored a hat-trick, completing four tries for the Panthers before half-time.
The second half continued in the same vein, with Hawkins scoring his fifth and sixth tries for the Panthers. Leeds' Butler added two more tries to his tally, but Hawkins continued to dominate, scoring two more tries to take his total to 10 and seal the victory for Halifax. Hawkins' incredible display earned him 72 of the Panthers' 92 points, as the team celebrated their second consecutive Wheelchair Challenge Cup title.
