Hampshire have solidified their position at the summit of the Women's T20 Blast standings, moving two points clear after a convincing eight-wicket victory over Durham. The win was largely thanks to Maia Bouchier, who notched her fifth half-century of the month, scoring 63 runs to anchor Hampshire's chase of 129 at the Utilita Bowl.
Following the dismissal of captain Georgia Adams for 22, Bouchier forged an 86-run partnership with Naomi Dattani, who contributed 33 not out, ensuring a comfortable path to victory despite Bouchier departing with just nine runs needed. Durham, who batted first and posted 128-7, saw Emily Windsor top-score with 30, but lacked significant contributions elsewhere, with Bex Tyson and Poppy Tulloch each taking two wickets for Hampshire.
Meanwhile, The Blaze ascended to second place in the league table, securing a comprehensive nine-wicket win against Essex at Chelmsford. Captain Marie Kelly and Australian all-rounder Charli Knott both recorded half-centuries, leading The Blaze to their third consecutive victory. Knott also impressed with the ball, taking 2-24 as The Blaze restricted Essex to 136-9, with Lucy Higham adding 3-24 and Maria Andrews 1-20.
Surrey also made significant progress, climbing to third in the standings after a hard-fought two-wicket win over Somerset. Captain Bryony Smith guided her team to victory with a crucial 63 runs from 51 balls, chasing Somerset's total of 148-7 with just four balls to spare. Somerset's Sophie Luff scored 52, while Surrey's overseas player Laura Harris took 3-16.
In a thrilling encounter at the bottom of the table, Warwickshire emerged victorious over fellow strugglers Lancashire by a single run in Blackpool. Natasha Wraith's superb 83 runs underpinned Warwickshire's innings of 160-9. Lancashire's chase of 161 saw Tilly Kesteven score 73, but they ultimately fell short, losing two wickets in the final over, including Kesteven's, and needing three runs off the last ball, which Mary Taylor denied them.
