Hank Azaria is fed up with Taylor Swift hogging the spotlight at major sporting events. The veteran actor, best known for his iconic voice work on The Simpsons, has had enough of her ubiquitous presence courtside at high-profile games. And it's not just the New York Knicks' Game Four NBA Finals triumph that got under his skin – although seeing Swift and her entourage in full custom Knicks regalia was certainly a sight to behold.
Appearing on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Azaria confessed that he's 'bothered' by the 'Taylor sports thing', after witnessing her prominent appearances throughout the NFL season. And who can blame him? The A-listers and their ilk may think they own the place, but in reality, securing those coveted courtside seats is a rarefied club that only the very select few get to join – unless you're a household name like Ben Stiller or Tracy Morgan.
Azaria dished on the often-thankless task of trying to snag top-tier tickets for high-demand events. Even director Spike Lee, a lifelong Knicks devotee, reportedly forks out his own cash for his seats – and that's just how it goes when you're not an A-lister. Take Questlove, Rainn Wilson, or Jeremy Strong, for example – even they get scattered throughout the arena like so many nobodies.
The real kicker is, of course, the game itself. The Knicks' epic comeback in Game Four was one for the ages, and their subsequent win in the following game sealed their first NBA Championship in 53 years. Swift's been keeping busy too – she just became the second-youngest inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame after Stevie Wonder, and dropped a new track for Toy Story 5's soundtrack.
The question on everyone's lips now is: can Taylor Swift keep her momentum going? Or has Hank Azaria finally had his fill of her 'Taylor sports thing'?
