Get ready for a visual feast that's all about the unsung heroes of live music: the fans! A stunning photographic series by Gareth Cattermole captures the electric creativity and camaraderie of Harry Styles enthusiasts as they take centre stage at Wembley Stadium. Using a Polaroid camera, Cattermole zoomed in on the concert-goers themselves, not just the superstar – and what he snapped is pure gold.
With his lens focused on the fans' arrival, socialisation, and vibrant self-expression, Cattermole aimed to bottle the palpable excitement and anticipation that's as much a part of live music as the performance itself. 'I wanted to capture the sense of community and individuality that's so unique at these events,' he explains.
The choice of Polaroid film was no accident – it forced Cattermole to slow down, be more selective, and focus on the intricate details that make each fan's experience so special. And what a treasure trove of creativity he discovered! Hand-sewn garments, custom accessories, and T-shirts with cheeky slogans all get centre stage in this fabulous collection.
Take a look at one proud fan rocking a hand-sewn tie dress – made the night before the show! Another image showcases a handcrafted top emblazoned with lyrics from Harry Styles's album 'Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally'. Even younger fans get in on the action, like this five-year-old getting ready for their first-ever concert experience.
With 12 nights at Wembley under his belt (and a further 10 shows in Amsterdam), four nights in São Paulo, six in Mexico City, 30 nights in New York, and four nights each in Melbourne and Sydney on the cards, Styles's global tour has been one for the books. And Cattermole's project serves as a lasting testament to the fans who make these events truly unforgettable.
