Pop sensation Harry Styles has surprised fans by opting for an unconventional mode of transport to his own Wembley Stadium concert, choosing to jog from his Hampstead residence to the venue. The singer, 32, was filmed by a fan running in blue shorts and a grey jumper, with a cross-shoulder bag, on Friday, 19th June, ahead of his third show as part of a significant 12-night residency in the capital.
Styles is currently midway through his 'Together Together' tour, supporting his fourth album, 'Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally'. While many artists might choose a private car or public transport for their London performances, Styles's decision to run an estimated 10-kilometre route has garnered considerable attention online, with fans speculating he set off from his North West London home.
Known for his dedication to running, Styles has previously competed in marathons, even completing the Berlin Marathon last year under a pseudonym with an impressive time of two hours, 59 minutes, and 13 seconds. Based on this pace, the journey from Hampstead to Wembley would have taken him approximately 41 minutes. He revealed in March that running became a significant 'processing place' for him after turning 30, particularly during the development of his latest album.
Fan reactions to the footage were swift and largely humorous, with many expressing astonishment. One fan commented on TikTok, "He has to be the first person ever to just jog to his own stadium show," while another added, "I thought Chris Martin getting the train to Cardiff was epic but this beats that!" The energetic nature of his stage performances, which involve extensive singing, dancing, and movement across the stage, suggests a high level of fitness.
Styles's Wembley residency commenced on Friday, 12th June, and has been met with critical acclaim. The Independent's Roisin O'Connor awarded his show a four-star review, describing it as a "grandest of homecomings" for a "consummate entertainer." His ability to transform a large stadium into a "warm, communal space" was highlighted, particularly during tracks like "Aperture." The residency continues with seven more dates scheduled at the London venue.
