Harvey Nichols' Birmingham store is set to close in January, resulting in at least 60 job losses, while its Leeds and Bristol outlets will be converted to the Flannels brand under Frasers Group.

  • The Birmingham Harvey Nichols store, which opened 25 years ago, will close in January.
  • At least 60 jobs will be lost due to the Birmingham store closure.
  • The Leeds and Bristol Harvey Nichols outlets are to be rebranded as Flannels.

Harvey Nichols' Birmingham store is scheduled to close in January, leading to the loss of at least 60 jobs. This move is part of a shake-up by Mike Ashley's Frasers Group, which will also see the Leeds and Bristol Harvey Nichols outlets converted to the Flannels brand.

Frasers Group, owner of Sports Direct, acquired the department store chain for £43m in mid-August when it entered administration. This deal preserved approximately 1,000 of the group's 1,200 jobs and six UK stores at the time.

Staff at the Birmingham store, which has been open for 25 years, were informed of the closure earlier this week. The future of the Manchester, Edinburgh, and London Harvey Nichols stores remains unclear.
