Hayden Panettiere, the actress who rose to prominence in 'Heroes' and later starred in 'Nashville' and multiple 'Scream' films, has died at the age of 36.
Panettiere was pronounced dead on Sunday, August 16, at a South Carolina apartment. While an autopsy revealed no signs of trauma, the cause of death has not yet been disclosed. Toxicology reports are currently pending and could take up to 12 weeks, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
An incident report states that the 911 call was made by Brian Hickerson, 37, identified as Panettiere’s boyfriend. His brother, Zach Hickerson, was also present at the scene. Brian Hickerson reportedly gave police a "bag of medication" belonging to Panettiere, though the contents remain redacted.
Panettiere's father, Skip, confirmed her death to ABC News. Her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, expressed his sadness and vowed to ensure their daughter, Kaya, "remembers the person" Panettiere was. Tributes have been shared by numerous co-stars, including Connie Britton, Tim Allen, Viola Davis, and Melissa Barrera.
