Helen Jenner has been unveiled as Reform UK's new leader in Wales. Her appointment follows the resignation of Dan Thomas last Tuesday, who stepped down after his arrest on suspicion of assault and controlling or coercive behaviours.
Nigel Farage, who joined Jenner on the steps of the Senedd, described the loss of the former leader as a "bump in the road" and stated the party would "carry on as if nothing has happened." Thomas, a former Tory councillor, was announced as Reform's Welsh leader in February and remains a member of the Welsh parliament. He has been bailed and maintains his innocence, stating he has done nothing wrong.
Jenner, who was previously Reform's deputy leader in Wales, is from Neath and represents Bangor Conwy Môn in the Senedd. Farage confirmed that elections for a new Reform deputy leader in Wales will take place.
