Homes England has selected Digbeth Loc Studios Ltd as its preferred development partner, subject to contract and a standstill period, for a significant new creative and mixed-use neighbourhood at Fazeley Street in Digbeth, Birmingham.

This proposed development is intended to advance the regeneration of Digbeth and bolster Birmingham's standing as a national hub for film, television, and creative production. The new neighbourhood aims to build on the success of existing organisations and venues in the area.

Jo Nugent, Executive Director, Midlands at Homes England, stated that the initiative is an opportunity to build on Digbeth’s identity and growing reputation. Steven Knight, Founder of Digbeth Loc. Studios, described Fazeley Street as the next stage of Digbeth’s creative story, with an ambition to create a place where creative businesses can grow and local talent can build a future.

The development is part of a broader goal to establish Digbeth as a globally recognised destination for the creative sector. Digbeth Loc Studios has previously been involved in the transformation of the Banana Warehouse into the Masterchef studio.

Why this matters: The development is expected to support economic growth, deliver new homes, and create employment opportunities, further strengthening Birmingham's position as a creative and cultural centre.
