Acun Ilicali, the owner of Hull City, has commented on the ongoing situation surrounding Manchester City's alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. Ilicali stated that if Manchester City is found guilty, their achievements would be akin to winning an Olympic medal through doping, describing it as "financial doping."
The Premier League has not yet issued an official comment regarding reports that began circulating last Friday, suggesting Manchester City has been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges. These charges relate to alleged breaches of the league's financial regulations over a nine-year period, during which the club secured eight trophies.
Ilicali, who acquired Hull in 2022, emphasized that he does not know if Manchester City is guilty, noting the club's denial of the charges. However, he called for a severe punishment if guilt is established, to deter other clubs from similar actions. Hull City, currently eighth in the top flight, is scheduled to play Manchester City at the Etihad on December 19.
