Hull FC winger Tom Briscoe to retire at end of Super League season

Hull FC winger Tom Briscoe has announced his retirement from playing rugby league at the end of the current Super League season.

Tom Briscoe, the 36-year-old Hull FC winger and former England international, will retire from professional rugby league at the conclusion of the Super League season.

Briscoe began his career with Hull FC in 2008 and has accumulated 232 tries across 471 appearances. He spent eight years with Leeds Rhinos, winning two Grand Finals and three Challenge Cups, before securing another Challenge Cup with Leigh Leopards in 2023.

He returned to Hull FC in April 2024, scoring 17 tries in 64 games during his second stint. Briscoe stated that it "felt like the stars have aligned a little bit" for his final game to be against Leeds at Headingley.

He expressed pride in his achievements, telling the club website, "It's been an amazing journey – the highest of highs that you can achieve in this sport, and some tough moments along the way too."
