Ian Brimicombe has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the National Armaments Director (NAD) Group, effective 7 September 2026. He will also join the NAD Group Executive Committee.
Brimicombe brings over 40 years of finance leadership experience from professional services, global pharmaceuticals, and luxury retail. In his new role, he will be involved in how the NAD Group delivers the Defence Investment Plan (DIP) and responds to new defence capability priorities.
His career includes over two decades at what became AstraZeneca and nearly seven years at British fashion house Burberry, where he supported finance and business transformation. Most recently, he served as CFO at Abercrombie & Kent Group.
Rupert Pearce, National Armaments Director, welcomed Brimicombe, highlighting his experience from pharmaceuticals and retail. Brimicombe will succeed David Johnson, who is retiring at the end of November after 37 years with the Ministry of Defence.
