A 24-year-old mother who was stabbed to death in her west London home while asleep with her baby and husband has left behind a devastated family in India.
Kirandeep Kaur, who was originally from India, was fatally attacked at her home in Hayes in the early hours of Sunday 12 July.
Her sister, Gursharan, 21, spoke to BBC London through a translator, saying that Kaur was 'everything for me' and that her family is struggling to cope with the loss.
Kaur had moved to the UK in September 2024 to study at Buckinghamshire New University and had completed her studies before working at a grocery store.
A 46-year-old man, Daniel Sean James, has been charged with Kaur's murder, attempted murder, and possession of a blade. He appeared at the Old Bailey by videolink on Thursday and was remanded into custody.
Kaur's family in India is seeking justice and her body's return for a rightful funeral in their hometown. Vigils have been held in London for Kaur by the Sikh community in the local area where she died.
The family is also grateful to the people in London who are attending the vigils and gatherings for Kaur.
