He was accompanied by Alejandro Dominguez, president of Conmebol, South America's football governing body. Ramon Jesurun, president of the Colombian Football Federation and an ally of Infantino, greeted him.
The aborted plan has led to Uefa's continued threat to boycott Fifa tournaments. This threat is expected to be tested with the Fifa Under-20 World Cup, scheduled to kick off in Poland in 29 days.
