Instagram is rolling out a new feature that lets users add posts they are tagged in directly to their main profile grid. The change, announced on 10 September 2026, gives users more control over what appears on their profiles.
Users can add a tagged post to their grid from the DM notification they receive when tagged, directly from the post itself, or through the Tagged tab. If they change their mind, they can remove the post from their profile.
The original post stays exactly where it is. Adding it to a grid does not delete or duplicate the original post, and it can be removed from the profile at any time without removing it from the Tagged tab.
Instagram says the feature could also be useful for creator collaborations, giving creators another way to showcase posts they have been tagged in without republishing the same content or using the “Invite collaborators” option. It could also be useful for brand campaigns featuring multiple creators who want to highlight a piece of content they were all tagged in.
The update is part of a broader push from Instagram to give users more control over how their profiles look. In June, Instagram introduced the “Reorder your grid” feature, allowing users to rearrange content on their main profile grid. Instagram has also added tools including “First Draft,” an editing feature that automatically trims selected video clips and removes pauses, and “Replace Audio,” which lets users update the music on an existing post.
