  • Iran's official IRNA news agency cited an unnamed source close to the delegation regarding the lack of planned talks.

Iran's state media has reported that its delegation attending the UN General Assembly has no plans for negotiations with the United States. This comes after US President Donald Trump indicated he expected further talks.

The official IRNA news agency, citing an unnamed source close to the Iranian delegation, stated, "Iran’s delegation in New York has no plans for negotiations with the United States." Trump had told media outlet Axios on Sunday that he anticipated talks would resume soon. This statement followed his rejection on Saturday of Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.

IRNA also reported that "Iran’s views and positions were conveyed clearly and explicitly to the US side... via a Qatari mediator." The Iranian delegation is expected to return to Tehran on Tuesday.
