Isomorphic Labs, a London-based AI drug discovery firm, is reportedly in early discussions to secure new capital, with a potential valuation of up to $50bn (£37bn). This follows a $2.1bn funding round just five months ago.
The Google DeepMind spinout, led by Nobel Prize-winning scientist Sir Demis Hassabis, is said to be seeking a valuation of at least $40bn, according to Bloomberg. Negotiations are in their early stages, and no agreement has been reached.
Founded in 2021, Isomorphic Labs utilises AI to design potential medicines, building on DeepMind’s AlphaFold technology. The company is developing treatments for cancer and immune disorders and collaborates with pharmaceutical companies including Eli Lilly, Novartis, and Johnson and Johnson.
Despite attracting billions in investment, Isomorphic Labs has not yet tested its own drug candidates in humans. The company aims to begin its first clinical trials by the end of 2026.
