Israeli air strikes on a village in southern Lebanon have killed at least 11 people, including two children, according to Lebanese state media. The National News Agency reported that nine individuals died in one strike that destroyed a three-storey residential building in Kfar Rumman shortly after midnight. A second strike on a car reportedly killed two paramedics.

The Israeli military stated it is investigating these reports. These incidents follow Israeli strikes on Sunday that killed seven people in southern Lebanon, which the Israeli military said were in retaliation for drone attacks by the armed group Hezbollah on its troops in occupied areas.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the attacks represent a "dangerous escalation" that jeopardises the US-brokered ceasefire agreed in June, which was intended to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
