Alessandro Bastoni, a defender for both Inter and Italy's national team, is at the centre of an investigation into alleged underage prostitution. The Italian footballer is said to have been involved in a luxury events company that organised exclusive dinners for high-profile clients in Milan, raising serious concerns about his involvement with a 17-year-old girl.
The agency in question, which allegedly provided private apartments for clients to engage in illicit activities with minors, is also under scrutiny. Wiretaps from 2020 reveal that Bastoni expressed his intention to have sex with the teenager immediately after dinner at an apartment in Cinisello Balsamo.
Despite the girl's denial of any sexual relationship with Bastoni, prosecutors claim she was coerced into prostitution on the evening of 11 July 2020 by the agency. This raises critical questions about the exploitation of minors and the responsibility of those involved in facilitating such activities.
The investigation highlights a disturbing trend in Italy, where organised crime groups are increasingly using luxury events to conceal their illicit activities. As the probe unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Bastoni's involvement will be proven or cleared up as a misunderstanding.
