Jack Lowden, known for his role as River Cartwright in the Apple TV spy show 'Slow Horses', may be considered too old for the new James Bond, according to his co-star Nick Mohammed. Lowden, aged 36, is among several actors reportedly in the running for the iconic 007 role.
Mohammed told The Telegraph that he suspects Lowden might be outside the age range Amazon, the franchise owners, are seeking. He mentioned hearing rumours that a younger Bond, possibly in their late twenties, is preferred over someone in their thirties.
This doubt follows previous comments from James Bond author Charlie Higson, who expressed reservations about Lowden's suitability for the role, citing concerns about his believability in hand-to-hand combat. The official search for Daniel Craig's replacement began in May, with Amazon MGM studios announcing the start of the process. The new Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight, and the casting announcement could reportedly be made by the end of the year.
