Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has named an unchanged starting lineup for today's Premier League match against Bournemouth, following a strong performance against Tottenham. New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo is available from the bench.

  • Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle has selected the same starting XI that played against Tottenham.
  • New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo is on the bench for Newcastle, with Jaissle citing load management as a factor for his potential debut.
  • Bournemouth, managed by Marco Rose, have won their last two Premier League games at St James' Park.

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has confirmed he will field an unchanged starting XI for today's Premier League encounter with Bournemouth. Jaissle stated the decision was made because "the lads deserved to start again after the performance against Tottenham and that was the approach for today."

New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo is set to begin the match on the bench. Jaissle indicated that his debut would depend on the flow of the game, adding, "He didn’t play for 90 minutes since a long, long time now, so that’s the reason why he’s coming now from the bench."

Bournemouth, under manager Marco Rose, have a strong recent record at St James' Park, having won their last two Premier League visits. This includes a 4-1 victory in the 2024/25 season where Justin Kluivert scored a hat-trick, and a 2-1 win last season.

Both German managers, Jaissle and Rose, know each other from their time in Austria and Germany. Rose, who is 11 years older than Jaissle, managed at Salzburg where Jaissle later coached. Newcastle has started the season with four points from two games, while Bournemouth has one point from their opening two fixtures.
