Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has acquired the Professional Fighters League (PFL), with a new brand set to enter the world of mixed martial arts (MMA). The PFL was previously a significant alternative to the UFC, MMA’s flagship promotion.
The acquisition is expected to take full effect in 2027. PFL CEO John Martin will serve as CEO and board member, leading the overall business of the combined company. Paul's business partner Nakisa Bidarian will continue to drive MVP’s boxing verticals and live events.
A press release on Thursday stated that Paul will continue to leverage his platform to drive audience growth, fighter development, and fan engagement. The combined MVP will feature nearly 400 elite athletes and intends to invest aggressively in both boxing and MMA.
The company plans to maintain relationships with media and distribution partners including Netflix, ESPN, and Sky Sports. MVP's first MMA event in May, MVP MMA 01, streamed on Netflix and reached an estimated global audience of 17 million viewers.
