Andrewsfield Aviation, a flying school and airfield near Braintree in Essex, will continue operations after TV chef Jamie Oliver helped arrange new ownership. The previous owners had stated they were preparing to close due to a lack of a successor.

Oliver, who obtained his pilot licence in July, assisted in bringing in Marc Naylor as the major shareholder and day-to-day operator. Oliver stated he will remain closely involved as a supporter of the airfield.

Carol Cooper, a director of the former Andrewsfield Aviation Ltd, will continue her role as a flying instructor and examiner at the airfield.
