Japanese actor Yoh Yoshida recently met with her friend, Michelin-starred chef Victor Garvey, at his Notting Hill restaurant, MATER1A. The pair discussed their careers and inspirations over a tasting menu.
Yoshida explained that she was in London to pay tribute to Richard III, having played the character, along with Hamlet and Brutus, on stage in Japan. She visited his grave at Leicester Cathedral.
Garvey, who owns two Michelin-starred Notting Hill restaurants, has been busy since he last met Yoshida in October of the previous year. He opened MATER1A and relocated his other restaurant, Sola, from Soho to Notting Hill. Yoshida also shared her ambition to study acting in London, specifically at LAMDA.
