Toshisuke Kanazawa, a 90-year-old bodybuilder, secured his 19th national title last month at the Japan Masters Bodybuilding Championships. He won in the 85+ category, competing against seven other men, a day after celebrating his 90th birthday.

Kanazawa, who runs a gymnasium in Hiroshima, maintains a rigorous training schedule of two hours a day, six days a week. He attributes his physical condition and longevity to a lifestyle free from smoking and alcohol, and a diet primarily consisting of brown rice, natto, and miso soup, having given up meat and fish decades ago.

His career includes two Mister Japan titles and a fourth-place finish in the 1967 Mr Universe competition. Kanazawa has also won six World Masters championships since turning 80.
