Filip Nowacki, an 18-year-old from Jersey, has claimed a historic gold medal in the men's 200m breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games. He led the race from start to finish, touching the wall in 2min 07.87sec at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

This victory marks Jersey's first Commonwealth swimming gold and establishes Nowacki as the island's most successful Commonwealth Games athlete. Canada's Oliver Dawson took silver, while Australia's Olympic champion, Zac Stubblety-Cook, secured bronze.

Elsewhere, England's 16-year-old Amalie Smith earned her second medal of the Games, a bronze in the women's 200m individual medley. Scotland's Stephen Clegg also won gold in the men's S14 50m freestyle, adding to his silver from the S13 100m freestyle event.
