Jet2Holidays has agreed to pay £7,000 compensation to a family following an incident in 2022 where a steam room door shattered, injuring two boys. The boys, then aged 11 and 16, were on holiday at the Green Nature Diamond Hotel in Marmaris, Dalaman, Turkey, when the glass pane of a steam room door burst outwards.
Both boys suffered cuts to their feet, legs, and arms. Their father described the scene as “carnage” and stated that his family did not go on a package holiday for four years afterwards due to the incident.
Jet2Holidays initially denied liability for the accident and injuries but later reached a settlement. A spokesperson for Jet2 confirmed the settlement and reiterated the importance of customer health and safety, expressing regret for the incident.
