England defender John Stones has officially joined Italian champions Inter Milan on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract. The 32-year-old centre-back departed Manchester City at the end of June when his deal expired, concluding a decade with the Premier League club.

Stones expressed that he had "lived all my dreams out" during his time at City, where he contributed to winning six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, the Club World Cup, and the Uefa Super Cup. He made 295 appearances for City, scoring 19 goals, after joining from Everton in 2016 for £47.5m.

Since becoming a free agent, Stones had reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs, including Chelsea and Juventus. He has earned 93 caps for England and was part of the squad that finished third at this summer's World Cup, starting in the quarter-final win against Norway and the 2-1 semi-final defeat by Argentina.
