England centre-back John Stones has officially joined Inter Milan on a two-year deal, the Serie A club announced today. The 32-year-old defender became a free agent after concluding his 10-year tenure at Manchester City in June.
Stones, who made 295 appearances for City and contributed to six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory, expressed his excitement upon arriving in Milan. He told fans, “I’m excited to be here. Appreciate you guys, I’m sure I’ll see you all soon. Thank you so much. Ciao.”
This move marks Stones' first time playing abroad, joining other English World Cup stars like Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane who have also ventured into European leagues. Inter Milan confirmed the signing on their website, highlighting his new chapter in Italy after a career spent in England.
Last season, Stones was limited to nine Premier League appearances due to thigh and calf issues. He will be looking to make a significant impact with his new club.
