British heavyweight Johnny Fisher is preparing to step back into the Copper Box Arena on Saturday night for his Zuffa Boxing debut. The 27-year-old will headline against Belgium's Michael Pirotton in a 10-round contest, a return to the venue where he experienced his first professional defeat last year.
Fisher's career has seen significant changes, including signing with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing in July after five years with Matchroom. He also switched trainers, moving from Mark Tibbs to Tony Sims, and has undertaken an intensive training camp.
Reflecting on his past loss to Dave Allen, Fisher told BBC Sport, "Yeah, I had a loss, but one loss can't define your career." He aims to fight for the British title within 12 to 18 months, mentioning Frazer Clarke and Solomon Dacres as potential domestic opponents. Current champion Richard Riakporhe has expressed openness to facing Fisher if he defeats Pirotton.
