The highly anticipated boxing match between former world heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was reportedly finalised in a Brighton karaoke bar. Matchroom executive Frank Smith stated that the deal was sealed in late September after months of negotiations.
Smith recounted that on a Sunday night, he met with Sela company representatives and lawyers in Brighton for approximately four hours. After struggling to find open venues, they eventually settled in a karaoke bar to discuss the remaining points of the AJ-Fury agreement.
The fight, described as the most-anticipated British fight of all time, is set to take place on 11 December in Cardiff at Principality Stadium. The venue was chosen after Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn insisted on a UK showdown, despite the contest almost heading to New York City.
Fury is considered the favourite for the December bout. This follows Joshua's challenging fight against Kristian Prenga in July, where he was knocked down twice in the first round before securing a second-round stoppage. Fury's recent victories include stopping Mariusz Wach in seven rounds and outpointing Arslanbek Makhmudov in April.
