A US district judge has halted Donald Trump's project to redevelop East Potomac Golf Links into a championship-level course. Judge Ana Reyes issued an order this week, stopping further tree clearing at the Washington DC public golf course.
The administration claimed to have already cleared 430 of a planned 529 trees. This follows a May order from Judge Reyes, which required the White House to seek approval for cutting down more than 10 trees.
Judge Reyes has ordered a complete stop to the tree clearing until 26 October, threatening contempt of court if the administration does not comply.
