Sophia Laforteza, the leader of the group KATSEYE, will not be joining the band for the European and UK dates of their upcoming 'WILDWORLD' tour. The tour is set to commence tomorrow, September 1, and includes performances at London's The O2 and Manchester's Co-op Live.
The group issued a statement yesterday, August 30, confirming Laforteza's absence, noting that she is focusing on her well-being. HYBE and Geffen Records, who signed the statement, reiterated their commitment to providing her with support and resources.
Laforteza announced her hiatus less than a month ago, stating that she needed to take a break to prioritise her mental health. She expressed that while it was a difficult decision, her health must come first.
This follows a temporary hiatus by band member Manon Bannerman six months ago, also for health and wellbeing reasons. Bannerman has not yet returned to the band.
