Actor Keanu Reeves was observed enthusiastically rocking out to Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' at a recent Peter Hook & The Light concert. The event took place last week, on Monday 21 September, at The Warfield in San Francisco.
Reeves introduced Peter Hook, co-founder of Joy Division and New Order, and his band The Light to the stage. He welcomed them by stating they would be "playing the music we all love from then, today and tomorrow."
The 26-song set concluded with 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', a track Reeves has previously identified as his 'desert island song'. Reeves, a long-time fan of Joy Division, was seen enjoying the performance from a private box.
Peter Hook is scheduled for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year, recognised for his contributions to both Joy Division and New Order. Other artists in the Class of 2026 include Phil Collins and Iron Maiden.
Reeves' own band, Dogstar, reformed in 2023 after a hiatus and released their new album 'All In Now' earlier this year. They recently completed a UK and European tour in June and July.
