Keira Bevan has been selected to play at fly-half for Wales' WXV opener against South Africa in Cardiff on Friday. The 29-year-old will partner Seren Lockwood in the half-back positions, having trained at fly-half during pre-season.
Wales' regular fly-half, Lleucu George, is named among the replacements, while Kayleigh Powell is unavailable due to a hamstring injury. Head coach Sean Lynn has included three uncapped players in his matchday squad: Amy Williams on the wing, and front row forwards Elan Jones and Shanelle Williams, who are poised to make their debuts from the bench.
Co-captains Alex Callender and Kate Williams will make a rare joint appearance after recovering from injuries, joining Bryonie King in the back row. Maisie Davies will start at loose-head prop alongside Kelsey Jones and Sisilia Tuipulotu.
In a reshuffled back line, Lisa Neumann moves to full-back, with Seren Singleton on the other wing. Courtney Keight and Freya Bell form a new centre partnership, as Carys Cox is unavailable. Lynn described his team selection as "exciting" and noted the new half-back partnership has been "working very well."
