Keysight Technologies, the US-based electronic measurement company, has joined Siemens' partner programme to link its testing and validation tools with Siemens' product lifecycle management (PLM) software. The move is designed to help engineering teams catch design flaws earlier in the development process.
Under the partnership, Keysight's test automation platforms will integrate with Siemens' Xcelerator portfolio, including its NX and Simcenter software. This allows engineers to run real-world tests against digital twin models, reducing the need for physical prototypes and speeding up time to market.
The collaboration targets industries where complex electronic systems are critical, such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial automation. By combining Keysight's measurement expertise with Siemens' PLM backbone, companies can improve the reliability of components like radar modules, battery management systems, and 5G communication chips.
Analysts note that the partnership reflects a broader trend in manufacturing towards 'shift-left' testing, where verification happens earlier in the design cycle. For UK-based engineering firms, particularly those in the Midlands' automotive corridor or aerospace clusters around Bristol, this could mean tighter integration between design and test teams.
No financial terms of the partnership were disclosed. Keysight already has a presence in the UK with offices in Fleet and Livingston, and the deal may open new opportunities for British engineers working with Siemens PLM tools.
